  • Do you use special taps with PRONIC tapping units ?
No, PRONIC uses standard taps (roll forming or cutting).

  •  Is it possible to tap different holes sizes in a multi-tap tapping unit ?
Yes, there are no problems when tapping different dimensions on the same head.
  • Is it possible to use a tapping unit with different press strokes ?
Yes. In some cases, there is little to change; just the tap setup position at TDC has to be adjusted. Otherwise, you will have to replace a set of gears in the tapping head.
  • Is the tapping unit good for different jobs, with different tap sizes ?
Yes, with our lead screw assembly (cartridge technology), you just have to choose the cartridge dedicated to the tap size you want to work with. The gear ratio of the unit might have to be adapted.

  • How long to change worn taps when in production ?
Generally, no more than 1 minute is required to change taps.

. Slide out the tapping head from the die.
. Use the tap wrench provided to change the tap.
. Then slide it back into the die.
    . That's it.
