The M1B & M1D are 100% mechanical, with an adjustable gearbox. They are the simplest tapping units to use and/or re-use within different applications. Very compacts, they only need 42 or 66mm (1.6” or 2.6”) width to slide inside your die.


Getting better over the years, it comes with a Quick Installation Kit that makes it even easier to slide in and out of the die, for quick tap change, or move from die to die. PRONIC new lead screw assembly also provides better compliance to bad tap line up with prehole, for  better thread quality.

Replace tap quickly

PRONIC tapping units use standard rollforming taps, which you can find at your local industrial products supplier or direct from PRONIC for high quality taps.
Slide the unit In/out of the die in seconds

With its main body built out of aircraft aluminium, PRONIC unit is easy to slide in/out. Thanks also to the Quick Installation Kit delivered. It makes the die design easier, it is “plug and play”.

  

Re-use the unit for other projects

A set of gear makes possible to adapt the tapping unit to different press strokes or depth to tap. You can also choose a different tap size, by changing the lead screw assembly (pitch insert). Worse case, the operation can be done within 5 minutes, no need to be a NASA Engineer. M1B and M1D are really “universal” tapping units.
